My education and training are focused on helping clients identify, accept, and heal from trauma. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), body-centered psychotherapies, mindfulness, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and somatic experiencing therapy. Regarding the effects of trauma on the brain and body, these approaches are effective in decreasing emotional intensity attached to traumatic life experiences. Since trauma looks different for every client, these therapeutic modalities can be adapted to create an individualized experience.
I practice from a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens. Meaning I view every client through a perspective that considers the surrounding environment they developed and matured in. This includes significant life events and relationships they have had. I then work to identify and capitalize on their resiliency to develop positive coping strategies.
... to my clients to help them gain a better understanding of what they are experiencing. I work to ensure all of my clients feel supported and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. I am passionate about creating a space that is welcoming and accepting of all walks of life.
